"Remembrances: Constructing Narratives of Wars of the 19th and 20th Centuries"

When: March 18-19, 2011

Where: Young Harris, GA, USA

The theme of the conference is "Remembrances: Constructing Narratives of Wars of the 19th and 20th Centuries." The Program Committee invites proposals for presentations and papers that explore the construction of the memories of wars as well as the social and cultural aspects of the war. Interdisciplinary papers in the social sciences or humanities, including literary studies, art history, and philosophy from young and senior scholars as well as graduate students are welcome. There will be a reception at the Crane Creek Vineyards and other exciting activities for conference participants.

SUBMISSION
The Program Committee will consider proposals for individual papers and for full sessions. Each individual paper proposal should include a one-page abstract and brief curriculum vitae. Each full-panel proposal should include a brief abstract of the session, together with a one-page abstract of each paper and a brief C.V. for each participant, including the chair/commentator. There is no registration fee to present or attend the conference. Those interested in serving as a session chair/commentator should submit a statement to that effect, accompanied by a brief C.V.

Please specify any special requirements, such as audio-visual equipment, outlets, or facilities to accommodate disability. Deadline for submissions is January 31, 2011.
